UK Early Years Subsidies

Help with Childcare Costs

Discovery World Day Nursery Ltd is fully registered to accept all forms of UK government childcare support. Below are the primary ways parents save:

15 Hours Free Childcare

Available for all UK 3 and 4-year-olds, and eligible 2-year-olds (15 hours per week term-time, or stretched at ~11 hours across 51 open weeks).

30 Hours Free Childcare

Available for working parents from 9 months - 4 years old (30 hours per week term-time, or stretched at ~22 hours across 51 open weeks).

Tax-Free Childcare

For every £8 you pay in, the government adds £2 (up to £2,000 per child per year, or £4,000 for children with disabilities).

Childcare Funding

Applications must be submitted before the term starts. You can check your eligibility and submit your application through the GOV.UK Childcare Choices platform. Once approved, you will receive an 11-digit code to present to your chosen, Ofsted-approved childcare provider. Note that the funded hours cover education, but providers may still charge voluntary fees for consumables (like meals, wipes, or trips). You also need to confirm your details are up to date every three months to maintain your eligibility. https://www.gov.uk/free-childcare-if-working

Funding Starts

Funding always begins at the start of the next academic term:

  • Spring term: starts January
  • Summer term: starts April
  • Autumn term: starts September

Example: If a child turns 9 months in February, funding starts April.

Nursery Fee Structure

We calculate your fees based on the 51 weeks and average them across 12 equal monthly instalments. Monthly fees are consistent all year-round. They include bank holidays, public holidays, and 3 inset days staff training annually.

Essential Enrollment & Fee Policies

Registration & Deposits

  • There is a non- refundable Registration fee payable of £75.00
  • A refundable deposit of £250 is payable to secure your child’s place. This will be deducted from the final invoice when the child leaves the nursery.
  • Payment of nursery fees is required in full and monthly in advance from the date the child starts attending the nursery.

Payment Only

  • Fees are based on 51 weeks per year and paid monthly in advance.
  • Fees will be reviewed annually.
  • Late payments fees charge: £25.00
  • We offer a 10% sibling discount on the eldest child's fees.

Sessions

  • A minimum booking of 2 full days, sessions is required.
  • Full Day: 08:00am-6:00pm
  • Extended Day: 7:30am-6:30pm
  • We are an all year round nursery.
  • The 'over 3 rate' applies the month after the child's 3rd birthday.

Notice & Policies

  • Two Months written notice is required to end your contract. One month notice to reduce your days.
  • The nursery will be closed on all bank holidays (normal charges still apply) No exchanges, credits or refunds will be given for sickness or holidays.
  • If you are late after your child’s session there is a late collection fee charged at £1 per minute.

All-Inclusive Care

  • We provide an all-inclusive service for your child where all meals, nappies, wipes, and extracurricular classes are included in our fees.
  • The nursery will not supply nappies and wipes after 3 years of age. Parents will have to provide for their child.
  • Formula milk parents will have to provide due to their own preferences.
  • For those in receipt of government funding, these are included as part of the Consumables Charge.
